As we move into November it’s hard to believe that the final SBB Road Show of 2018 has come and gone! These road shows are among my favorite events of the year and I’m kind of sad that another one isn’t just around the corner. Oh well, 2019 isn’t that far away and we’ll be doing 2 or 3 next year too!
The final SBB Road Show of the year was unique in many ways and I want to share with you some of the highlights for me:
SBB is Now a Thing: As the model starts to get more mainstream traction, the events themselves are getting more energized. There are fewer people trying to get the concept and more dealers actually looking for the recipe of how to do it. 2018 was the year of SBB really becoming a thing. Dealers (check out www.sbbcertified.com to see the growing list) and OEMs (OneRate anybody?!) alike are getting onboard. Things are getting real and CPP is no longer the only option for pricing and delivering managed print.
Location: Hello Asheville, North Carolina! Wow! Talk about the perfect location to hold an event. The fall colors, the mountain vistas, the quaint stores and endless selection of restaurants. Unlike some of the larger cities that most of us go to conferences and conventions for, Asheville just feels more human-scale and friendly. This was my first time to Asheville and I’ll be sure to make my way there again.
People Are Now Saying SBB is a “No Brainer”: Something tipped this year. As mentioned above, SBB has become a real thing. But what amazed me the most was that the dealers who attended were calling the model a “no brainer.” I heard that comment made several times throughout the day. This is a big shift as even 7 or 8 months ago there was more skepticism. Why? I’m not sure I can answer that entirely but I suspect it’s because enough dealers are doing it that other dealers are starting to pay attention. We’ve been working hard on training dealers on the SBB model for years now, so it’s nice to see its principles take root in the market as a whole.
Addition of BEI Services: For those that have been to an SBB Road Show you understand that it’s not a product but rather an ecosystem. Print Audit, Clover Imaging Group and GreatAmerica Financial Services have been involved from the start. We’ve covered the assessment, sales, marketing, funding, and wholesale side of things, but something was missing. Not any more! Thanks to BEI Services joining the SBB team, we’ve filled an important hole in the ecosystem. What is that hole? The ability to price an SBB deal and understand 100% what your pricing should be! I can’t wait for people to see the updated ecosystem in future road shows!
SBB Road Trip to the Road Show! A couple of us from Print Audit actually used the event as an opportunity to do a road trip! We both live up around Lake Erie and thought it would be awesome to drive and see some of the fall colors and vistas along the way. I’m glad I did!
