The Twelve Days of Turkey

Posted by West McDonald on Nov 20, 2018 11:35:27 AM

The week that I get the most work done is the one where my American friends celebrate Thanksgiving.  I’m Canadian you see, and we celebrate Turkey day much earlier, so for me this is a work week. Canadians are expert at taking more holidays than almost any other nation (with the exception of those in France, no contest!) but there is one time of year that our American neighbors take the cake (or the Turkey): Thanksgiving.  It is likely the longest holiday in the U.S. and the week is pretty much a write off. I don’t mind, really. Thanks for helping me and my other Canadian friends to get caught up on our inboxes and to-do list during this time!

Posted by West McDonald on May 22, 2018 10:50:03 AM

ITEX has always been one of the main events for our industry that serves as an annual gathering of some of the brightest minds in the industry. It’s really the only event left in the OED space that allows everybody to be in the same place at the same time.   It’s an event where ideas about growth and transformation are given a safe place to germinate and grow. ITEX 2018 is officially winding down and I’m excited to share some of pictures and notes on what I saw this year.

Have you ever noticed how some of the greatest discoveries in history were made while trying to do something else? Percy Spencer was experimenting with microwaves for radar arrays when he switched gears and came up with the microwave oven.  Wilson Greatbatch came up with the Pacemaker by accidentally choosing the wrong resistor. And a dog invented Velcro when his owner, George de Mestral, noticed burs sticking to his fur. Sometimes what you think your doing doesn’t quite show where you’re going to go.

Posted by West McDonald on Apr 17, 2018 2:27:47 PM

Print Audit’s series of “7 Deadly Sins” e-Guides are among the most downloaded of all the content we produce, and considering the quality and volume of helpful industry information we create in our mission to save the office equipment industry, that is saying something.  If you are an OED (Office Equipment Dealer) you have likely already downloaded The 7 Deadly Sins of Office Equipment Dealers or The 7 Deadly Sins of Document Management.  If you are a MSP (Managed Services Provider) looking to expand your offering and differentiate yourself from an ocean of “me too,” you should read them as well.  They are as relevant today as when they were written and filled with poignant insights and expert opinions.
